USES OF ELECTRICITY
|
Electricity is used everywhere, from your house to factories, schools, streets,...
But, how does electricity travel to different places? Electricity travels from power plants to our houses through power lines. Electricity enters your house through a fuse box, so we can control it. |
From the fuse box, electricity travels around the house through wires so it gets to all the light switches and sockets in your house. Then, you can turn your lights on with those light switches or you can connect any electric machine to those sockets.

SPECIAL USES OF ELECTRICITY
- Doctors use electricity to treat illnesses: electricity can reduce pain, it can improve joint mobility, it can repair tissues and it can improve blood flow. You can even use electricity to restore the heart normal rhythm!
- Painting: if you charge some paint with positive electricity and an object with negative electricity, the paint will cover that object with less imperfections, that is, much better.
- Pollution can be removed using static electricity. How does it work?
- Inside the factory chimney there are 2 metal grids: one placed above the other.
- The lower metal grid has a negative charge; while the higher one has a positive charge.
- When the dust and dirt particles pass through the first metal grid, the negative one, they get a negative charge.
- Then, when they pass through the second metal grid, the positive one, they are attracted and they stick there, so cleaner air leaves the chimney.
What about watching some videos to ease the explanation?
On the first video you will watch how electricity can heal our body.
